Which network will I use?

Depending on the plan: CSL, HKT, SmarTone, China Mobile HK or 3 Hong Kong — all with 5G across the city.

Will it keep working in Shenzhen or Macau?

Yes, if your plan covers them. Pick “Hong Kong + Macau + China” and it switches network by itself when you cross. A Hong Kong-only plan stops at the border.

Do I need to verify my identity?

Only on the East & Southeast Asia plan — Hong Kong requires a quick real-name check with your passport after install — you’ll get a text message with the link. Other plans don’t need it.

What country will my IP address be in?

It depends on the plan: Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines, Macau, Poland or UK. Apps and websites see you as connecting from there — that’s why ChatGPT or TikTok work on some plans and not others. Most eSIM stores don’t tell you this. Apps can still change their own rules, and local laws apply where you are.
