Before you buy
The product page always shows exactly what a plan includes.
You need a device that supports eSIM and is unlocked (not tied to one carrier). A quick check: dial *#06# — if you see an EID number, your device has eSIM.
Travel data plans roam on partner networks and give you mobile data; your own number stays on for calls. Local plans run directly on a country’s own network, and some include a local phone number. Local SIM cards (like KDDI and EE) can’t be refunded; local plans built on our own network can.
Whole trip gives one allowance for your stay. Per day resets daily — every 24 hours or at midnight, depending on the plan. Most “unlimited” plans slow down after heavy use under a fair-use policy in the fine print. Ours show the actual speed up front: 5 Mbps is fine for maps, social and standard video; 10 Mbps is smoother for HD video, calls and hotspot.
Many do. On each product page, “Where it works” shows every country your plan covers, and you can switch to a bigger plan if you’re travelling further.
It depends on the plan’s IP country. Each plan option on the product page shows which apps work.
No. Our China plans connect through networks outside mainland China, so Google, WhatsApp and Instagram work as usual. ChatGPT and Gemini work on selected plans — each plan shows which.
Buying & receiving
Your eSIM arrives by email and is saved in My eSIMs.
Usually within minutes of payment. We email your QR code and install details, and save them in My eSIMs on our website.
Check your spam or promotions folder, then log in to My eSIMs with the email you bought with. Still nothing? Contact us with your order number.
You can pay by major credit and debit cards at checkout. Available options are shown before you pay.
Yes. Each eSIM gets its own QR code — just make sure each one is installed on the device that will use it.
Yes. Your personal and order details are kept confidential and only used to deliver and support your eSIM.
The day before you fly, on Wi‑Fi. Installing doesn’t start most plans — your days start when you first connect at your destination. UK number plans are the exception: they start when installed.
Yes, for your travel line. Keep data roaming off on your home line to avoid charges from your own carrier.
Yes. Your usual SIM stays on for calls and texts; the Pakyo eSIM handles data.
On travel eSIMs, yes — turn on Personal Hotspot as usual. KDDI local lines in Japan cap hotspot data; the product page shows it for each plan.
Try not to. Travel eSIMs can be reinstalled on the same device, but not moved to another one. Local SIM cards (like KDDI, EE and Singapore local 5G) can usually be installed only once. If it happens, message us before buying a new one.
No. An eSIM stays with the device it was first installed on, so install it on the device you’re travelling with.
Check you’re in a covered country, your travel line is on and selected for mobile data, and data roaming is on. Then toggle airplane mode or restart. Still stuck? Contact us with your destination and device model.
Data & usage
Check what’s left and what happens when it runs out.
In My eSIMs on our website. Your device’s settings also show how much data your travel line has used.
It depends on the plan. Many keep you online at a slower speed; some stop. The product page tells you which.
When your days are up. Most plans count 24-hour periods from first connection; Japan’s KDDI lines count calendar days in Japan time. There’s nothing to cancel.
Refunds, in plain terms
eSIMs are digital — nothing ships and nothing is returned. To ask for a refund, email support@pakyo.com within 30 days of purchase with your order number, the email you bought with, your destination, your device model and what went wrong. Nothing here limits your rights under consumer law.
We may ask for screenshots of your settings or error messages — never passwords, one-time codes or card details. Please don’t delete the installed eSIM while we check.
If it won’t connect, we’ll troubleshoot or replace it. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method. Your bank decides how long the refund takes to show.
